Our Story

Megan began her riding career like most young girls: With a set of introductory lessons at the young age of 8. With the support and encouragement of her parents, she excelled in her lessons and, before long, started competing in the hunter classes locally. Her parents were encouraged by her dedication and progress and ultimately purchased her first horse, Ernie, a morgan saddlebred cross. At one of the local shows, she was having a bit of an off day – which can be expected – her father encouraged her to try the jumper classes, and the rest is history. Megan and Ernie excelled in most of the local shows and the duo became quite well known by the judges and other competitors on the circuit. Ernie and Megan were awarded horse and rider of the year numerous times.

After high school, Megan chose to move to Ocala to attend The College of Central Florida and received her degree in equine studies/farm management. She continued competing and had a wonderful local trainer. The trainer saw her potential and with Ernie getting a bit older, recommended a new horse, Octavia K, a Trakehner. Ernie was sold to another family at the barn whose little girl won most of her classes for several years, then Ernie was retired. Megan and Octavia K have competed at Wellington, Tryon, HITS, World Equestrian Center, Grand Oaks, Fox Lea Farm, Jacksonville Equestrian Center, Canterbury and Chattahoochee Hills outside of Atlanta.

During this time Megan worked at several farms, animal clinics and as a handler at Ocala Breeder Sales. She then decided to go back to school and received her Vet Tech certification after 2 years of study. She was hired by Peterson and Smith Equine hospital and worked there for several years before deciding to go out on her own and offer lessons, horse training, consignment and sales.

Megan now resides just outside Ocala, FL with her husband Harley on their little piece of Heaven.
